What we do
A fully equipped roll shop and machining floor under one roof, from inspection and assessment through to repair, finishing and transport.
Roll grinding
Two large Farrel grinders finish rolls up to 49.75" diameter to customer specification.
Custom machining
Conventional and CNC turning for one-off jobbing work and repeat production runs.

Journal repair, wear liners, bushings and double-shelled, liquid-cooled roll rebuilds.

Built for heavy work
Our 25-ton overhead crane with a 10-ton auxiliary hook services two large Farrel roll grinders and a bank of lathes reaching 288 inches between centres. Every finished roll is measured against customer specification before it leaves the shop.
- Roll Grinding — Two large Farrel roll grinders finish mill rolls up to 49.75" diameter and 34" between centres, inspected against your specification before they ship.
- Precision Grinding — Close-tolerance grinding for shafts, sleeves, journals and machined components where finish and roundness decide whether the part runs.
- Manufacturing — A large jobbing shop with lathes up to 288" between centres, producing one-off parts, spares and repeat production work from prints or samples.
